The Lincoln Public Schools is looking for an individual to be Permanent Building-Based Substitute for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. You will be assigned to work at  the Hanscom campus. The position is daily, from 7:50-3:00, which allows the position to support dismissal starting at 2:55. You will report to the main office each day and be assigned to cover for a teacher or paraprofessional when they are absent. As much as is possible, you will know ahead of time which schedule and teacher you will be covering.  This position will be temporary through the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Duties:

  1. Assigned to rotate into various teaching positions in the school on a daily basis and possibly throughout the day
  2. Implement teacher lesson plans and administrator directives with fidelity and efficiency
  3. Communicate with classroom teachers or school administrators regarding expectations for student work, behavior, and lesson execution
  4. Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students and staff.
  5. Ensure the teacher’s absence does not cause an interruption in classroom instruction
  6. Gain familiarity with district curriculum and resources
  7. Perform supervisory duties as assigned (such as lunch, bus, or recess duty)
  8. Abide by state statutes, school committee policies and regulations
  9.  Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by principal or designee
  10. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  11. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff personnel information
  12. Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the District
  13. Ability to be flexible with job assignments as needed
